Dancing With the Stars will, unsurprisingly, hit the floor once again in the 2025-26 TV season.

Following a strong run last fall, ABC has renewed the long-running competition show for a 34th season. DWTS has also named its first castmember for the coming season: conservationist and TV host Robert Irwin. The rest of the celebrity cast and their professional partners will be announced closer to the season premiere.

As has been the case since its return to ABC in 2023, DWTS will air on the broadcast network and stream simultaneously on Disney+ next season, then stream on Hulu the following day.

Irwin follows his older sister, Bindi, to the Dancing With the Stars stage. Bindi Irwin and partner Derek Hough won the competition in the show’s 21st season in 2015.

Dancing With the Stars is coming off a strong showing for its 33rd season. The show ranked first among all network entertainment series among adults 18-49 in the fall, averaging a 0.86 rating after a week of viewing (not including streaming). It also drew 5.86 million total viewers, even with its 2023 performance, and the season finale (7.95 million viewers, 1.55 rating in adults 18-49) brought in the show’s biggest audience in more than three years.

DWTS is the first of ABC’s unscripted stalwarts to earn an official renewal for the 2025-26 season, though it was followed closely by The Golden Bachelor on Tuesday (Shark Tank is conducting casting calls for its 17th edition but hasn’t formally been picked up). The network has also picked up most of its scripted series for next season, though first-year show Doctor Odyssey remains in limbo.
